LIFELINE SYSTEM ON STANDING ROUND SEAM ROOF WITH PV PANELS

Horizontal lifeline with solar pv panels

Partner: SkySafe valbeveiliging

Country: The Netherlands

Solution: XSLinked horizontal lifeline system on XTrustion base plates(★★★)

Our Partner in the Netherlands, SkySafe valbeveiliging, was asked to provide a work at height solution on an agricultural machinery storage facility near the city of Zwolle.

The customer wanted to have solar panels, also called PV panels, installed on this barn. In order to provide a safe work environment, in accordance to the Dutch law, they asked for a lifeline (restraint) system. This ensures that the workers installing and maintaining the PV panels cannot fall from the roof.

SkySafe installed an XSLinked horizontal lifeline system on XTrusion base plates to fit the standing round seam roof profile. Additionally, in order to better protect the roofing in case of a fall, XSDynamic energy absorbers were added to the system. These energy absorbers automatically deploy in case of a fall and absorb the energy released during the course of the arrest.
