ROOF GUARDRAIL SOLUTIONS
WHAT IS A GUARDRAIL SYSTEM
In essence, guardrails are placed on locations to prevent persons to reach a certain area. In terms of fall protection, this isn’t very different. A guardrail system prevents those who work or walk at height from reaching an area where fall hazard exists. This way, the risk of falling of a roof is eliminated.
FOR WHAT PURPOSES ARE GUARDRAILS SUITABLE?
- Flat roofs or roofs with a max. slope of 10 degrees.
- (Industrial) buildings with lots of installations on the roof (air conditioning, chimneys, skylights etc.)
- For property owners who want to create a safe-to-access roof for anyone with one investment.
WHY ROOF GUARDRAIL AS A FALL PROTECTION MEASURE?
The most important reason to opt for a guardrail system is that it’s a collective solution that protects all persons present on a (roof) surface, when installed along all edges of the surface. Furthermore, no specific training or any user knowledge is needed to ‘use’ it.
A guardrail system that is placed along the entire edge of a surface, makes sure that the whole surface is classified as a so-called ‘safe zone’. This means that persons can freely move within the perimeter and work can be performed without any other form of fall protection.
