XSLINKED LIFELINE TO SECURE ROOF LIGHTS

Client: Smurfit Kappa

Partner: SafetyPro

Country: The Netherlands

Solution: Horizontal lifeline along roof edge (★★★★)

Smurfit Kappa is an international corrugated packaging company. The entire roof of their production facility in Etten-Leur needed to be coated with a grey coating to keep the temparatures inside the factory down.

There was no permanent fall protection system to offer safe access to the roof. Also, the center of the roof was full of skylights, which entail a risk of workers falling through. SafetyPro, a new XSPlatforms Partner with a lot of knowledge about safe work at heights, has equipped this roof with an XSLinked lifeline solution that facilitates safe jobs in the long term.

A total of 2520 meters of lifeline was installed on the roof, which is used to secure workers at all areas where fall hazards exist. This includes the areas surrounding the unsafe skylights. Additional anti-pendulum anchor points were placed at the corners of the roof, to limit swing fall hazard.
