For the cleaning and maintenance of a glass canopy covering a passage of a shopping center in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, a fall protection solution was needed (according to the construction specifications).

For this, the supplier of the glass canopy turned to SkySafe valbeveiliging. Based on an ODIN calculation, a special support was integrated in the inside of the canopy for an XSLinked lifeline. On the pinnacle of the canopy, a single anchor point was installed that can be accessed with a custom-made hook-on ladder.

Getting a fall protection specialist involved in this project at an early stage enabled this client to ensure that the glass canopy can be cleaned safely. Close cooperation between the two experts led to an innovative solution that ensures bright daylight inside the shopping center.
