HORIZONTAL LIFELINE SYSTEMS FOR GLASGOW TRAIN DEPOT

Partner: Clow Group Ltd

Client: ScotRail

Country: Scotland (United Kingdom)

Solution: XSLinked horizontal lifeline systems on trapezoidal steel decks (★★★)

ScotRail is Scotland’s national train operating company which manages public transportation between 353 stations all over Scotland.

XSPlatforms and the Clow Group Ltd assisted ScotRail with proving safety measurements for maintenance workers who work on the roof of one of their depots in Glasgow.

The metal sheet roof of the Glasgow Shields ETD (Electric Traction Depot) required a fit solution; a 190 meters long horizontal lifeline system on XSMD base plates. The system includes an extra 3 meters of lifeline running through the safe zone so workers can safely attach themselves before being exposed to a potential fall hazard.
