XSRail overhead system on office building Paulina

At the Honderdland business park in Maasdijk stands Paulina, an energy-neutral office building designed by Moen & van Oosten Architects. The building is elevated above the ground level and features a large atrium, with floating office wings on the left and right that are surrounded by light aluminum grid floors, which also serve as a platform for window cleaners. Such platforms are also installed on the outside of the building where they serve as both access points to the glazing and as external sun shading.

Guaranteed Aesthetic and Safety
To ensure that window cleaners can work safely, an XSRail fall protection system from XSPlatforms was chosen. The architect was looking for a relatively inconspicuous solution for safe work at height. Together with the supplier of the grid floors, a special mounting bracket was designed that could be used to attach both the grids and the rail system. With this two-in-one solution, both safety and aesthetics are guaranteed.

Smooth and Comfortable

Each XSRail section consists of segments of six meters that are attached to the platforms at four points. The system consists of a rail and a safety mechanism, also known as a runner, which guarantees smooth and comfortable movement of the user. The rigid connection of the rail system ensures that a window cleaner falls a maximum of 20 centimeters in case of instability. The system can carry up to six people, which means that in the event of an accident at height, rescue workers can still safely use the system.

Architects highly appreciate AllRisk’s solutions, as evidenced by our presence in various specifications. Paulina is the second project that AllRisk has completed in collaboration with Moen & van Oosten. The collaboration on the ‘De Walvis’-project on Bickerseiland in Amsterdam clearly left a good impression.
