COMPREHENSIVE FALL PROTECTION SOLUTION FOR THE ROOF OF A CHEMICAL COMPANY

Free standing roof edge protection

Partner: Heyerick

Country: Belgium

Solution: XSFlex Freestanding Guardrail, XSLinked horizontal lifeline, XSGlobe single anchor points

BASF is a large, multinational chemical company with plants worldwide. The BASF Astene Plant is part of the Agricultural Solutions division. For this plant location BASF was looking into a solution to provide a safe workplace for roof and skylight maintenance.

After consultation with our Belgian partner, Heyerick, an XSPlatforms fall protection solution was chosen, consisting of three different fall protection systems.

Heyerick greatly values safe work at height, and a high level of safety is a priority in selecting products, which is why they choose XSPlatforms as supplier of permanent fall protection products and Personal Protective Equipment for fall protection.

Due to the different roof surfaces, edges and uses of the roof the choice was made to install an XSLinked horizontal lifeline system on one roof, for skylight maintenance. On the other roof XSGlobe single anchor points were installed. And a section of XSFlex foldable guardrail was installed along one roof edge to protect workers when working on the rooftop equipment in that area.

In total 47 meters (154 feet) of lifeline was installed, 14 XSGlobe single anchor points and 44 meters (144 feet) of XSFlex guardrail.
